Idaho Notary Process

To request to become a notary or renew an existing notary commission, follow the steps below. Refer to the attachments for additional instructions.

  1. Request notary from Legal Ops via a ticket in Request Hub
    • Request Hub will purchase your bond.
    • You will receive notary bond certificate.
    • Upload certificate to ticket.
  2. Create SOS Biz account at: https://sosbiz.idaho.gov/
    • Fill out application online.
    • Print application.
    • Have application notarized.
    • Prepare copy of bond certificate.
    • Legal Ops will provide you with check for payment.
  3. Submit application to Secretary State of Idaho.
  4. Receive notary certificate and upload to ticket.
  5. Legal Ops will purchase a stamp and have it mailed to you.
