Applying Trust When Approving Invoice

Applying Trust When Approving Invoice

If the matter associated with the invoice has trust enabled on it (“Has Trust” is checked), then the attorney will be prompted whether they should apply trust funds to the invoice.  This will appear even if there is no trust funds currently available.   Unless you want this invoice treated specially, please press “Yes”

The invoice page will reload and a new box will come up, showing you how much money is available in the trust account and the total balance due on the invoice.  If the amount available in the trust account is less than the amount due, the Amount box will be reduced down to match the maximum amount of funds available.  Add a note if needed, but otherwise press “Accept Payment” to place a pending hold on those trust funds and to mark the invoice as paid.

If the amount available in trust is $0, you can safely press “Cancel.”

Once you’ve accepted the payment, you’ll see the invoice totals show the balance has been fully or partially paid!
